Privacy & encryption

Plain-English, no jargon

You're end-to-end encrypted

Everything you send and every call you make on Ready Up is locked to your devices. Here's exactly what that means, in plain English.

Your keys never leave your phone

When you joined, Ready Up made a private key inside this device and locked it with your PIN. Only your device can unlock it, there's no copy anywhere else.

Every message is sealed before it leaves

Text, photos, video, voice notes, GIFs and locations are encrypted with AES-256-GCM on your device. The servers only ever hold scrambled bytes.

Calls are encrypted device-to-device

Voice and video, one-to-one and group, travel over DTLS-SRTP directly between devices, and the setup messages are sealed with your chat key too.

We can't read anything, even if asked

There is no master key. Without your PIN and your device, your chats and calls are just noise, to us, to your network and to anyone who steals the data.

Group keys are sealed per member

Each group has one key, wrapped separately for every member using ECDH P-256. Nobody outside the member list can unwrap it.
